Boteco VIP is the downtown destination for Brazilian cuisine

Boteco VIP Latin Bar & Cuisine is a delicious Brazilian dining destination in downtown Myrtle Beach.

Another win has been scored in the flourishing Arts & Innovation District in downtown Myrtle Beach with the opening of Boteco VIP Latin Bar & Cuisine.

Located around the corner from Grand Strand Brewing Co. and next door to The Tasting Room on 9th, Boteco has easily mingled and made itself at home amidst its neighbors. Garage doors open onto Nance’s Plaza to catch an ocean breeze on warmer days. Inside, it’s fun and funky, with a stage set up for live music along the front windows, exposed brick walls, a slat wood panel statement wall wrapped around the top of the beautiful bar, and neon signs.

Boteco’s menu is a deep and diverse journey, traveling and landing somewhere in between a fusion of Brazilian and American cuisine. For starters, try the Calabresa Acebolada, or Brazilian Sausage, served with caramelized onions and the house special mayo that’s to die for, for dipping. Another delish appetizer:  The Brazilian Empanadas (beef or cheese) finished with just the right crisp.

You’ll find a vast list of entrees and grilled plates for the main course. Moqueco Baiana, or Brazilian Fish Stew, is a popular dish known in Salvador, served with rice, pirao, and a side salad. Camarao Tropical, or Tropical Shrimp, is a beauty, shrimp with cream served in a pineapple, with coconut milk and a side of white rice. Grilled combos (chicken, salmon, or pineapple) offer a heaping portion of meat, caramelized onions, and fries. Add one of the sides, like Brazilian tropeiro beans, buttered cassava, fried bananas, or fried yucca.

And if you’d prefer American comforts, Boteco has a handful of burgers, plus chicken wings and chicken fingers.

Rounding out the offerings are desserts, like churros and Banoffe, a classic Brazilian sweet treat made with sweet bananas, dulce de leche, and finished with cinnamon. And the full bar that’s known for its unique craft cocktails, a blend of Brazilian cachaca, passion fruit, vodka, and more.
