Milk & Honey Coffee Cafe is a refreshing addition to mornings in Surfside
Owner/chef Mason Zeglen knows a thing or two about the culinary industry. He’s a two-time winner of “Guy’s Grocery Games” on Food Network, he was a contestant on “The Big Brunch” on HBO MAX, and most recently appeared as the host of the last two seasons of “Chef Swap at the Beach” filmed here in Myrtle Beach. Zeglen says that, after traveling the world, he decided to settle down in the Myrtle Beach area to be closer to family and become active in the community.
The confines of the café are cute and comfortable, laid out with lounge/sitting areas and tables, potted plants and succulents, and honeycomb-shaped wall art. Milk & Honey’s ambiance is both relaxing and brewing with a buzz of conversations within the busy café.
Choose from a menu bursting with specialty coffees, brunch, and fresh-baked pastries. Try the Bee Sting Latte, Maple Sea Salt Latte, or Dirty Chai, a delicious blend of sugar and spice, from the hot coffee section.
If you’re up for a fresh beverage on ice, sip on their Espresso Tonic or Ginger Lemonade Spritzer. In addition to freshmade daily specials, other pastries served at the counter include Danish, Pistachio Cardamom Knots, Cruffins, Morning Buns, Scones, and Biscuits.
Brunch goodies on the menu include the Yogurt Granola Bowl packed with granola, pumpkin seeds, almonds, honey and fresh berries on Greek yogurt; the Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich, a fried egg and cheese, plus your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage, stacked on a homemade biscuit; Overnight Oats with oats, chia seeds, maple syrup, bananas, coconut, cinnamon and nutmeg; the French Toast, house-made bread topped with fresh berries, whipped cream, and maple syrup; and an assortment of sourdough toasts, including Avocado Toast with avocado, cherry tomatoes, feta, a poached egg, and olive oil; Peanut Butter Banana Toast with peanut butter mousse, bananas, granola, and honey; Soft Scrambled Toast, soft scrambled eggs with lemon herb mascarpone cheese with a side of crispy bacon; and Smoked Salmon Toast with smoked salmon, cream cheese, a poached egg, capers, herbs, pickled cucumbers, and red onions. Surfside Beach has gained a refreshing option in the breakfast and coffee shop landscape in Milk & Honey Coffee Café.
