Grand Strand Witches’ Night gets spooky for a cause

Each October, the witches of the Grand Strand area gather for an evening of celebration to mark the change of the season with food, fun and spirits at the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk. For $5, you can purchase a wristband that allows you to receive great discounts at select restaurants the night of the event, as well as discounts at businesses along the Grand Strand.

Grand Strand Witches’ Night had its first year back in 2015, and since then the event has raised more than $21,000 for local children’s charities. For the 2019 event, 100 percent of funds will be donated to the Children’s Recovery Center. This local non-profit works with children who have been abused.

In addition to wristbands, raffle tickets will also be available for purchase for $1 each or $20 for an arm’s length of tickets. Great prizes include a two-night stay at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes, a one-hour massage at Cinzia Spa and more. The raffle will be held at Creek Ratz at 8 p.m. and you must be present to win. Christine Vernon will host an Inlet Ghost Tour on this night, with a donation from each ticket going toward the charity. (Call (843) 655-4470 to reserve your spot.) Head to the website for a full list of discounts and raffle prizes and come get spooky to support a great cause. –J.F.
