Wynonna and the Big Noise take the Calvin Gilmore stage
The big names taking the stage at the Calvin Gilmore Theater will continue this March with a performance from Wynonna Judd. The five-time Grammy winner and bestselling author’s career revolves around her storytelling, showcasing her ability to reach the heart of the human spirit. This gift has translated throughout her time performing, whether that be alongside her mother, Naomi, as one half of the legendary duo The Judds or going it alone with her own extremely successful solo career. Wynonna is respected for her unflinching and bold honesty, which draws her millions of fans to her music and talent.
Throughout her career, Wynonna has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and charted countless singles, including more than 20 number one hits. Such favorites include “She is His Only Need,” “I Saw the Light,” “To Be Loved By You” and “No One Else on Earth.” She has also won 60-plus industry awards, including ACM Female Artist of the Year and a star on the Music City Walk of Fame.
In her current musical arrangement, Wynonna is joined by her band the Big Noise, which is led by her husband/producer/drummer, Cactus Moser. The band released their debut full-length album in February 2016 to rave reviews. Wynonna has called the new sound “vintage, yet modern” and a “return to the well.” The style is rootsy, encompassing Americana, soul, rock, country and blues. The self-titled album Wynonna & the Big Noise features a list of impressive special guests, including Jason Isbell, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. The album reached an impressive 14 on the U.S. Country charts.
Whether you’re a diehard fan of Wynonna and Naomi as The Judds, of Wynonna’s solo career, or just of great American country music, this show is for you.
