Myrtle Beach’s Aspen Grille surpasses the standard
For the freshest Carolina cuisine East of the Rockies, plan a trip to Aspen Grille in Myrtle Beach. The longtime landmark on Business 17 in the north end of the city recently changed hands to Roland Sciotto of Bistro 90 fame in Longs.
Sciotto is no stranger to high-end cuisine and has certainly made his presence known at this sister location. His signature dry-aged USDA Prime steaks take center stage on the Aspen Grille menu. There’s so much more, but let’s start with the chef’s steaks, which includes the full range of traditional cuts, from 6 to 16 ounces. Choose to add a side of seafood (lobster tail, seared scallops, sauteed garlic shrimp, or a crab cake) or any of their steak toppings, including brandy peppercorn cream, Hollandaise, Hunter’s or Bernaise sauces, or a blue cheese crust. A la carte sides only add to the delicious dish: grilled asparagus, rosemary French Fries, sautéed mushrooms, sautéed onions, creamed spinach, truffle mushroom risotto or crispy Brussels sprouts.
Aspen’s menu is well-rounded while still managing to be laser-focused on the highest quality and hand-crafted food from local lands and waters. Deep-dive into seafood creations, such as Panko-Crusted North Carolina Mountain Trout, Seared New Bedford Scallops and Shrimp and Grits. You also can’t go wrong with any of the land entrees, like the Crispy Long Island Duck Breast, Cabernet Braised Short Ribs, Australian Rack of Lamb, and more.
If you’d like to stick with lighter fare or order appetizers with a glass of cabernet at the bar, Aspen also has a variety of fresh salad combinations and gourmet starters available, like the Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Loin, Prime Beef Carpaccio, Extra Large Burgundy Escargot, Pork Belly and Fried Gulf Oysters, and more.
The extensive wine list here is award-winning; in fact, they were honored with a 2021 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. And their hand-crafted cocktail menu blended by the star-studded staff of professionals behind the bar is epic.
All of this is served with Southern hospitality within the surrounds of Aspen Grille’s sexy, stylish dining areas (including one private room for special gatherings), which you’ll fall in love with, time after time.
