This weekend of Italian food and fun helps raise funds for charity

Spend a June weekend at The Market Common celebrating all things Italian. Sponsored by the Sons & Daughters of Italy of Myrtle Beach Lodge, Festa Italiana will include continuous entertainment with live music, arts and crafts vendors, an Italian-themed gift shop, activities for kids and a car show by the Grand Strand Corvette Club. And don’t forget the food! Authentic Italian fare is on the menu, with sausage and pepper sandwiches, meatball heroes, ravioli, Neapolitan-style pizza and more, plus an assortment of amazing desserts including zeppoli (fried dough), cannoli, biscotti, Italian ices and cookies. There will be a chance to show what you’ve got with a spaghetti and pizza eating contest. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available.

The two days of fun and great food are all for a good cause, with funds raised going to several charities that the Myrtle Beach Sons & Daughters of Italy work with. The lodge’s motto is “helping our community in need,” and they offer assistance to groups like Canine Angels of North Myrtle Beach, the Alzheimer’s Association of South Carolina, Fostering Hope, Community Kitchen of North Myrtle Beach, Meals on Wheels of Horry County and more. We’ll raise a slice to that!
