21 Main’s campfire concoction will have you asking for seconds

At 21 Main at North Beach, customers expect a casual, upscale, fine-dining experience and are not disappointed. Known mostly for its prime beef, seafood and sushi, the elegant eatery also has a wonderful bar with the finest top-shelf liquor available. But 21 Main is not afraid to have a little fun, too. Featuring a perfect combination of holiday flavors such as chocolate and caramel, along with the summertime spectacle of a freshly roasted campfire s’more, 21 Main’s original Toasted S’mores Martini is a marriage of flavors perfect for any time of the year.

Bartender Christina Barbati, who doubles as a soldier in the National Guard, found herself with a little time to kill and a freshly discovered bag of marshmallows. She thought, “Hmm, I bet I could make a good martini with these” and played with the ingredients until she got it just right. The result is a clever, feel-good, dessert-like drink that’s not too sweet nor heavy and includes a hand-fired roasted marshmallow floater.

Here’s how you can make one at home:

Toasted S’mores Martini
Crushed graham crackers
Caramel sauce
Chocolate sauce
1 ounce Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
1 ounce vanilla vodka
.25 ounce RumChata
Splash of cream
1 large marshmallow

Coat rim of martini glass with caramel sauce and dip the rim in crushed graham crackers. Swirl and drizzle chocolate sauce inside glass. Mix remaining liquid ingredients with ice in a shaker. Mix well and strain into glass. Toast a large marshmallow with butane flame and float on top. Enjoy!
