Horry County wildfires bring together a news reporter and a fire lieutenant
Meghan Miller and Christopher Nash’s wedding at The Surf Golf & Beach Club was like traveling through time, honoring the couple’s past, present and future. The two met in 2008 with Meghan covering the Horry County wildfires on local news and Christopher, a Fire Lieutenant for North Myrtle Beach, working to put them out. Their relationship evolved, and they dated for 14 months before getting engaged. At the April 12, 2014, ceremony, Meghan’s mother honored a family tradition by reading 1 Corinthians 13, a verse Meghan’s grandfather read during wedding ceremonies he ministered. The couple gave their guests a glimpse into their pasts with childhood photos used as centerpieces and each table represented a special memory. Meghan and Christopher incorporated a tree planting in their outdoor ceremony. They planted a spruce tree using soil from each of their childhood homes in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
