Coldwell Banker Seacoast Advantage celebrates women in business by showcasing the Davis & Hodges team, consisting of Wendy Hodges, Kim Davis and Rhonda Brooks.

Kim and Wendy met 22 years ago at Conway High School, where Kim worked as an English teacher and Wendy worked as the Curriculum Specialist. Both ended up getting their real estate licenses and forged a partnership in 2012. Rhonda joined the team after moving here from North Carolina.

These professionals attribute a large part of their success to teamwork and putting people over profit.

“Given top priority is the overall well-being of our clients and their experience. Building relationships and trust is top priority for us. We love helping people have a better life, and are not high pressure at all. We will point out negatives along with positives and may lose a sale because we are always honest. We strive to be the educator and provide objective insights when buyers/sellers are emotional. Clients need an experienced, trustworthy professional to look out for them!

The team’s more than two decades of real estate experience makes for good marketing strategies. They all enjoy “staging” a home for photos and videos.

“We love to help transform a property before we even begin marketing!”

Also, Coldwell Banker’s expansive technology allows them to target specific buyers for unique properties.

The team is also involved in the community.

Wendy was elected to the Horry County School Board to represent District 4 (Myrtle Beach, Socastee and Murrells Inlet). She relies on her background in education and local knowledge of the district, and also visits schools, so she’ll have comprehensive knowledge in making decisions to ensure each child gets the best education possible.

“Our children are the future of our area and we’re dedicated to whatever it takes to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for the future leaders,” she says.

The team also has sound advice for women who are starting out in business:

Wendy: “Be positive and consistent. Once you set a goal, define specific actions to obtain that goal. Consistency is key! Maintain a routine and time block. Perform actions daily and consistently. Action turns dreams into reality!

Kim: “Be a woman of integrity. Doing the right thing always, even when it may mean you lose a deal or a client…but you will gain respect.”

Rhonda: “Follow your dreams. You can be a mom and an entrepreneur. Whatever you decide, don’t give up!”
