Women in Business 2021 - Dr. Jessica Y. Greene, LPC

Dr. Jessica Greene, LPC, provides mental health services to assist people with empowerment through identifying and conquering patterns of negative thoughts and self-destructive behaviors while working towards developing a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

“Life’s demands can sometimes seem overwhelming which can result in anxiety, depression, and other unhealthy ways of managing stress. At times, we all struggle with the challenges and difficulties life throws our way,” says Greene.

Greene utilizes the best approach that fits the needs of the client, ranging from cognitive behavioral techniques to faith-based counseling. She works to provide a safe, caring, and compassionate environment that allows you to grow without judgment.

Her goal for clients is to improve their quality of life and mental health.

“I believe what sets my company apart from others is my 14 years of experience as a Professional School Counselor, Career Counselor, and Mental Health Counselor in the school setting,” says Greene.

This experience has allowed her to create a deep understanding of the challenge individuals, families, couples, and children face on a daily basis.

“Being a minority woman in business has granted me opportunities to work with diverse populations and increase the knowledge of mental health awareness in minority populations,” Greene also mentions

In addition to her work, Greene also volunteers for many organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Horry County Schools, United Way, and New Directions—just to name a few.

For women just starting out on their own, Greene says, “Never be afraid of failure and always be willing to learn. Entrepreneurship is not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Surround yourself with other entrepreneurial women and seek mentorship.”

Greene’s goals for the future include continuing to improve the quality of life and mental health in the Grand Strand community.

“I would like to break the stigma(s), including ethnic and cultural barriers, that deter individuals and families from mental health services.”
