Jane Gray Roper & Baxter Eaton Williams

Gray and Baxter’s families both attend Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet and enjoyed meeting by boat on “The Point” after church on Sundays. The two went to different high schools and colleges, but reconnected when Gray returned home after graduating from Clemson. They rekindled their friendship, which turned to something more. After about a year together, Baxter proposed early one morning when they were getting ready to head to Charlotte for a football game. The ceremony was held at Belin, followed by a reception at Wachesaw Plantation. It was a Christmas wedding with an inlet theme featuring Christmas trees, oyster ornaments for guests to take home, oyster garland and Baxter’s favorite cocktail—the White Russian. Gray and Baxter live in Murrells Inlet.
