Brittany Rhymer first met Zach Schwarz while working for Zach’s grandfather, Jeff Schwarz, in North Carolina. After his grandfather passed away, their companies merged, and Brittany and Zach drew closer as well, starting a courtship for the next four years.
“I have two children that fell in love with him and his sweet golden retriever, Brinkley,” says Brittany. “We’ve had some amazing years together.”
On the day of the proposal, what Brittany originally intended as a surprise birthday party for Zach alongside friends and family turned out to be a surprise for Brittany when he popped the question.
“While everyone was eating at the party, I went to grab the cake to light and bring out,” she says. “While I was lighting the cake, everyone gathered around and Zach made a speech thanking everyone for coming. …He then got on one on knee and surprised me with the proposal. It was such a special moment that everyone got to be a part of.”
The two married on April 29, 2023, at 21 Main Events in North Myrtle Beach in front of a guest list of 150 family and friends. Brittany describes their wedding day as “elegant and traditional,” showcasing a fusion of personal aspects of both bride and groom, such as celebrating each of their religions: Zach is Jewish and Brittany is Baptist.
“We had the most perfect day surrounded by those we love,” says Brittany.
The celebration continued onto the reception, also held at 21 Main, where guests were seated at an intimate candlelit dinner surrounded by a color theme of dusty rose. Merriment extended into the evening with an open bar, music entertainment provided by violinists and dueling pianists from Crocodile Rocks, and lots of dancing.
Today, the newlyweds – Zach, owner of Cherry Grove Marina, and Brittany, a travel agent for MSC Cruises – live in Briarcliffe Acres in Myrtle Beach.
