Amelia Antonucci & Justin Dowd

A year after Justin moved to Myrtle Beach from New York, he and Amelia, a high school junior at the time, were introduced by a mutual friend at her church. They began going to the same youth group and attended many events together, hung out at the beach, and started dating in August 2013. The pair went on to attend Clemson University and spent summers with their tight-knit friend group from church. In June 2018, the couple took a weekend trip to Lake Murray with Justin’s family and some close friends. The second night of the trip, Justin’s mom asked to take the couple’s picture on the dock by the lake. Justin completely surprised Amelia by getting down on one knee. There was champagne and lots of hugs. The pair originally planned to tie the knot on May 30, 2020, but their date was changed due to COVID-19. They instead had a small ceremony with close family only on May 16. About 15 people were in attendance and the night ended with cornhole and Frisbee rather than dancing, but was still amazing. The big wedding took place at 21 Main Events at North Beach in August, where the couple were surrounded by their closest friends and many family members. Many of the decor elements were homemade by Amelia and her mother. The centerpieces they created featured gorgeous purple orchids submerged in cylinder vases with a candle floating on top. Guests stayed on the dance floor all night long to continue the celebration of this special day. Amelia and Justin live in Myrtle Beach.
