American folk singer-songwriter Vance Gilbert started as a jazz singer before switching genres and becoming a regular on the open mike circuit in Boston. He is known for his improvisational rapport with audiences during his shows and has a wide musical range, from Joni Mitchell covers to jazz classics to his original songs. He has recorded 13 albums, the most recent being Nearness of You, which was released in 2015.
