Three Generations of Leadership and Philanthropy: The Baruchs of Hobcaw Barony

This special program, hosted by Lee G. Brockington, will explore the lives of the Baruchs of Hobcaw Barony. Dr. Simon Baruch was a Civil War surgeon and medical pioneer. His son, Bernard, was a Wall Street financier, duck hunter and presidential advisor. Bernard’s daughter, Belle, was an equestrian, military volunteer, humanitarian, aviator and visionary conservationist. New information and research help create a better awareness of these three generations of the Baruch family. Brookgreen Gardens, 1931 Brookgreen Drive. Wednesday, 10–11:30 a.m. Free with garden admission, but reservations are required. (843) 979-6083, www.brookgreen.org
