This rock opera focuses on the life of Tommy Walker, who loses his sense of sight, speech, and hearing after witnessing a traumatic incident, and becomes a pinball prodigy and a celebrated spiritual leader. The original Tommy premiered on Broadway in 1993 and was created by The Who’s Pete Townshend and director Des McAnuff. It is ultimately a story of hope, healing, and the buoyancy of the human spirit.
