Two neighborhood fathers trick their children, Luisa and Matt, into falling in love. They see that arguing themselves helps unite their children and stage a pretend abduction where Matt heroically saves Luisa. When the children discover the deception, they reject the match making but eventually return to each other with interest. The Fantasticks is the world’s longest-running musical and originated in 1960 with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones.
