June 28
Myrtle Beach

Presented by the Friends of the Chapin Library, this event will take place at the adjacent Chapin Park. The Jerk theme pays homage to one of the enduring legacies of the fusion of African and Taíno cultures in Jamaica. Jerk style cuisine is savory, sweet, fragrant, and flavorful! This method of cooking is a complex blend of seasonings and spices that’s sure to give your taste buds a unique experience. This festival highlights the fusion of African, Indigenous, and Caribbean influences that shaped one of the most iconic cooking styles in the world. From slow-smoked jerk chicken to plant-based island favorites, every dish tells a story rooted in heritage, resilience, and community. Beyond the food, the festival creates a full cultural experience with live music, dance, local vendors, and interactive moments that honor the energy of the Caribbean.
