Lauren and Nick had lots of mutual friends and knew “of” each other for years. That changed when they ran into each other at a friend’s birthday celebration, where Nick asked her to join him on an afternoon boat ride. After a year and eight months of dating, summer rolled around, which is a busy time for both of them since their jobs rely heavily on tourists. Lauren had to work on her birthday, so they decided to celebrate the next week on their days off. They were getting ready to head to dinner when Lauren was surprised to see a huge party bus with all their friends waiting outside. They stopped at 2nd Avenue Pier, where they had drinks and appetizers and listened to music. The band called Lauren on stage to sing “Happy Birthday,” where Nick surprised her by taking the mic and proposing. The wedding was held at Thompson Farm in Conway, where they said “I do” under an oak tree. The reception was at Bucksville Hall and featured spring pastels with a vintage, eclectic feel. The Mighty Kicks had everyone on the dance floor. Lauren and Nick live in Myrtle Beach.
