Brandon Lane and Kelli Bates met through mutual friends, and after five years of dating, Brandon popped the question at Brookgreen Gardens’ Nights of a Thousand Candles.

They were married on June 7, 2014, at Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, and the reception was held at Pawleys Plantation and emphasized food, family and fun. The couple’s love of sports was reflected when Kelli waved a white spirit towel with her fellow Gamecock fans as she and Brandon entered the reception venue and the 2001: A Space Odyssey theme song was played.

Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and a signature drink, the “Branelli,” a combination of Brandon and Kelli’s names. Before dancing, the two changed into customized Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes with “Mr. and Mrs. Lane” written on the back of them.

The cake was simple yet modern with a single tier decorated in a fondant chevron pattern.
Upon their exit from their magical night, the newlyweds walked through a tunnel of sparklers and drove away in a golf cart.
