This classic American play is set on Labor Day Weekend in the joint backyards of two widows. Occupants of the houses include Flo Owens, her two maturing daughters, a boarder who is a spinster school teacher, and a woman who lives with her elderly mother. When a young man named Hal Carter is thrown into the mix, the female atmosphere changes.
