Charleston native to build unique sculpture at Coastal

Jonathan Brilliant brings his unique work to Coastal Carolina University this January. Brilliant creates site-specific sculptural installations and has traveled around the world to display his distinct pieces.

From May 2009 to December 2010 his “Have Sticks Will Travel World Tour,” a marathon series of on-site installations, swept through two continents, three countries, and 13 galleries over 18 months. In November 2011 an exhibition titled “Stick, Stack, Show” opened at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.  This large comprehensive show features sculptures, new site work, prints and other gallery interventions.

Brilliant is the South Carolina Arts Commission 2011–2012 Visual Arts Fellow and recently received a $20,000 individual artist grant from the Pollock Krasner Foundation.
