Evergreens adorn Ripley’s Aquarium for the Festival of Trees, with more than just tinsel and cranberries. A collection of more than fifty trees, each decorated to represent a different state, as well as the United States, makes for a beautiful and fun holiday event.

Since the Festival of Trees was first displayed at the aquarium, its vastness has grown exponentially. Starting with only ten trees, this event in its ninth year has filled out, along with the size of the trees. The South Carolina tree, donned with magnolias, golf balls, sea-shell wreaths, stars, and Gamecock and Tiger paraphernalia, stands strikingly at eighteen feet. The tree representing the United States of America shines brilliantly in red, white, and blue.
Not only is the festival a treat for the eyes, but families can enjoy interactive games. The Ripley’s Holiday Tree Scavenger Hunt requires participants to make their way throughout the display, testing knowledge about the state trees. Come out to play or simply to experience the beauty of the season at the Festival of Trees.
