The Sons Of The American Legion Squadron 178 in Murrells Inlet is holding its annual 5K Fun Run, benefiting local veterans organizations along with honorably discharged veterans and their families. 
“The previous two races were such a success that we are proud to announce that we are holding our 3rd annual 5K Fun Run,” notes Race Coordinator Jim Brewer. The last two Sweat for a Vet 5Ks raised a total of $12,500 in proceeds,  he says. Last year’s event alone brought in $6,500 and had 139 runners. “We want to keep on supporting our military, veterans and their families.”
Runners and Walkers are all welcome. The course begins and ends at the American Legion Post, and there are very few turns. The runners each receive a participant “swag bag” containing items such as pens, magnets, and calendars.  Registration online only at runsignup.com
