Festival Brings Elite Inetrnational to Local Stages

This June, the Muzika! Festival returns to South Carolina for its fifth season, marking a quarter-century of global excellence for its parent organization, Varna International. The world-traveling production company firmly established South Carolina as its permanent cultural home, ushering elite international artistry to local stages. The 2026 season, led by Maestro Gregory Buchalter of the Metropolitan Opera, features more than 50 faculty members who perform alongside approximately 300 emerging, global artists.

Along the Grand Strand, performances kick off June 6th at Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach with A Balkan Bouquet, a collaboration between the Bulgarian Youth Choir and the Carolina Youth Chorale of Myrtle Beach, taking place at 7 p.m.

That event is followed locally a week later on June 13th with Liederabend, a German art song recital, also at 7 p.m. at Trinity Church.

Ground Zero in Myrtle Beach hosts Muzika June 14th for a 3 p.m. matinee entitled The Magic of Broadway, featuring pianist Alex Lefevre.

Varna’s last concert in Myrtle Beach will take place on Sunday, June 21st, with a 2 p.m. performance of A Summer’s Delight, featuring a saxophone quartet at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon Chapin Art Museum. A complementary wine & cheese reception follows.
