A couple of eastern Pennsylvanians met, began dating, fell in love, and, a little over a year later, moved to Myrtle Beach with their beloved dog, Kona.
“Our first date was at Torre Mexican Restaurant in Saucon Valley, Pennsylvania, in March 2022,” says Becca. “From the moment we sat down, the conversation flowed effortlessly, and any first-date nerves quickly melted away. By the end of the night, there was a quiet, but mutual, confidence that we had found our person.”
One of the first trips as a couple for Becca and Ricky was to Myrtle Beach, where Ricky often vacationed growing up.
“We had a blast exploring the area and seeing what the town had to offer. My favorite memory was going to Wicked Tuna for dinner and sitting on the beach after to watch the sun set.”
The beachfront would be that magical setting where Ricky and Becca returned for his proposal October 8, 2023.
“Ricky worked with the amazing team at Ash Events to plan a surprise proposal at our go-to beach access, 45th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach,” says Becca. “We had plans to go out for dinner for my birthday and made a ‘pit-stop’ at the beach on the way. When we got to the sand, I saw a beautiful picnic setup with a sign saying, ‘Will You Marry Me?’, and I couldn’t say yes fast enough!”
After the newly engaged couple had a professional photo shoot on the beach to capture the moment, they revisited Wicked Tuna—this time for a combined celebratory and birthday dinner.
The celebration continued for the Scotts on their wedding day, May 17, 2025, with the ceremony held on the Hilton lawn at Kingston Resorts in Myrtle Beach, and the reception was in the Seaside Vista space above the oceanfront Black Drum Brewing.
"We fell in love with the reception venue on our tour, mostly because of the clean look and the amazing garage-style doors that open up to a balcony overlooking the ocean,” says Becca. “For decor, I maintained a balance between color and black-and-white details to fit the industrial feel of the venue.”
Becca shares that making the decision to have the wedding {at Myrtle Beach} was a difficult one, as most of the couple’s friends and family had to travel here, far and wide, from across the country, including Pennsylvania, California, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Maine, and more.
“But we received an outpouring of love and support and were so grateful that our friends and family made the trip to celebrate our wedding with us in a place that has been so impactful on our relationship,” she says.
Today, the Scotts’ home sweet home is in Conway (they closed on their first home in March 2025—only about two months before the wedding—to add to the stress of planning a wedding), where Becca works as a multimedia graphic designer at Coastal Carolina University and Ricky is a financial analyst, also at Coastal Carolina University.
