Downtown Tasting Tour in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance is hosting another Discover Downtown Dining (D3), a tasting tour of the downtown restaurants. This moveable feast takes place at Kings Festival Plaza (former KMart Plaza) along Kings Highway and will include a tasty combination of food and beverages from participating restaurants, explains Michelle Cantey, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Alliance. “D3 is basically a dine-around where the attendees are placed in groups and each group rotates through each of the restaurants throughout the event,” she notes. “The attendees may visit a restaurant they’ve never visited prior to D3, which happened last year.” The concept for Discover Downtown Dining was brought to fruition in 2024, and took place along Broadway Street. After that successful event, the Alliance’s D3 participated in Taste of the Town with a special section of restaurants, she says. Participating restaurants for this tasting tour (at Grand Strand Magazine’s press time) include Big Mike’s Soul Food, Nine Spices Korean Hot Pot, Ginger Garlic, Riga Tony’s, and Why Not Wings. “It’s a nice selection of various cuisines available in downtown Myrtle Beach: southern soul food, Korean, Indian, Italian, and possibly (with other participants) Mexican and Venezuelan,” Cantey states. Tickets are $40 per person and include dishes and beverages. Kings Festival Plaza, 1403 N. Kings Hwy. Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. $40. michelle.cantey@mbdowntown.org
