Founded in 1977, Spoleto is one of America’s premier performing arts festivals. For 17 days and nights, Spoleto fills Charleston with renowned artists and on-the-rise performers in disciplines including opera, theater, dance, and a wide range of music—from symphonic and chamber to choral, jazz, and folk. Slated performers this year include Corinne Bailey Rae, Patti Smith, Band of Horses, and many more. Typically, Spoleto puts on 150 performances in more than 10 different venues and even produces its own operas.
