This month’s event features several black artists playing homage to Black History Month. The monthly Artwalks take place in the Arts & Innovation District and are designed to be self-guided tours of the participating artists and businesses in downtown Myrtle Beach. Participating galleries and businesses feature stunning works from a variety of artistic mediums, including live performances, painting, jewelry, clothing, photography, and more. In addition to showcasing their art, several artists will be conducting live
demonstrations during the Artwalk.
On Ninth Avenue North, Larry Fine and Art Renew are the resident artists at Grand Strand Brewing. Next door, at Boteco VIP, visual artist Liz Lawson will be the featured artist and Hakeem Green will be the featured musician. At The Tasting Room on 9th, Michelle Davis will be the featured artist and Dolly Llama of Myrtle Beach will host Sasah Art and a Solaris Arts Collective Pop Up. Le Manna Bread will host jewelry artist Mushie Charms by Malaysia. From 7-9 PM, Lucid Coast Candle + Bar is hosting a fun Wicks and Wellness candle making and mental health awareness workshop. On Broadway Street (west of US 501), Fresh Brewed Coffee House will host the Artwalk’s youngest artist to date, 8-year-old Christopher MacCullough. In addition,
Steve Pruitt of The Different Drummer will conduct an African Drum Circle in Fresh Brewed Coffee House’s meeting space. Hot Coffee and Cocoa will be available for purchase during the Artwalk. Mrs. Fish Seafood Grill will feature visual artists Pat Ghannam and Lee Williamson, who will be displaying their work and painting live during the Artwalk. Kaleidoscope Artisan Collective expands its gallery and moves to 915 Broadway Street (just down the street from its original location). With its Grand Opening, Kaleidoscope will feature entertainment by DJ Immer and an introduction to its kids’ art offerings.
The Myrtle Beach Train Depot plays host to the Myrtle Beach Arts & Music Festival which will include live entertainment and art. Original works will be performed by AJ Case, an acoustic hip hop performer; Tina Smith, jazz infused singer; Goofy Footers, bilingual surfing jam band; and Well Worn Collective, soulful surfing infused rock band. Visual artists who will be conducting live demonstrations include Dan McGraw and Tiffany Fagnant. Plus, other fun artistic surprises. The Myrtle Beach Arts & Music.
Festival will take place 5-9:30 PM. Attendees are invited to provide their own bites and beverages.
On Eighth Avenue North, William H Miller Studios & Fine Art kicks off its Personal Mythologies themed show & reception. The opening night reception will be 5-8 PM. Lori Sylvester will be the featured artist at the Long Bay Theater Lobby. Down the street will be an indoor market of local artists selling jewelry, art, and more. Carolina Improv Company will NOT have a show on Friday, February 7 but will return March 7 with its FREE F1rst Friday Show. On Broadway Street (east of US 501), Island Vibes will host visual artist Kwasie, who is making his second appearance in our first Friday Artwalk. The Space @ Kaleidoscope, located at 519 Broadway Street, transforms into a board game cafe & event space. During the Artwalk, The Space @ Kaleidoscope will be hosting a sneak peek of its Grand Opening weekend. Tito's Trolley returns as official F1rst Friday Artwalk shuttle. The shuttle, sponsored by Wired LLC, will run an Artwalk loop from 5-8 PM. Note the shuttle stops listed on the left of this article. Make an evening of art, music and enjoy downtown dining options: Dos Carnales, El Rey del Taco, Sabor Caseiro, Swig & Swine, The Tavrne, Island Vibes, Vietnam House, Homestyle Jamaican Restaurant, Sun City, El Primo, Grand Strand Brewing, Boteco VIP, The Tasting Room on 9th, Le Manna’s Bread, Mrs. Fish Seafood + Grill, Mr. Sub, Maryland Fried Chicken, Bombay at the Beach, Bumstead’s, the Ole Irish Pub and Atlas. During the F1rst Friday Artwalk, downtown restaurants will offer enticing dining specials and refreshing beverages for attendees strolling participating Artwalk venues.
