Join Christopher Judge in this informative presentation discussing the archaeology of the Mississippian period circa A.D. 1100-1600 in the Wateree River Valley in central South Carolina. These indigenous societies were the ones impacted by early European explorers and colonists. The University of South Carolina has been excavating in the valley since 1973 and many important discoveries have been made.
