Heather St. John
For many women, bra shopping can be an exasperating and time-sapping experience. However, Heather St. John, CEO and founder of The Balanced Bra Company in Myrtle Beach, stands ready to help women find a bra that’s the perfect fit.
Her desire to own a bra business came about from her own disappointing experiences. “When I was younger, I struggled to find a bra that fit properly, so I went to a professional fitting and discovered that I had uneven cup sizes. As a woman with asymmetrical breasts, my search for a well-fitting bra often ended in frustration, leaving me to simply ‘deal with it,’” she recalls. So she began her own research.
Years later, she and her husband “decided to take the leap,” and founded The Balanced Bra Company. “Balancing full-time jobs and raising four children, it took us five years to get our company up and running, but we made it happen!” St. John explains.
Her company is dedicated to addressing a specific need in the market for women with asymmetrical breasts by offering the ability to choose individualized cup sizes without compromising on comfort or style, she continues.
“Embracing the fact that individuals are unique, The Balanced Bra Company strives to go above and beyond in order to provide customized intimate wear that fits an individual’s unique body perfectly. Our innovative approach to creating the perfect “fit” empowers women to overcome sizing challenges with our unique bras, some of which feature front and back clasps, allowing for different sizes on each side if necessary.”
For women starting out in the business world, St. John offers this advice: “Think outside the box. One of the most powerful tools we have is our ability to identify personal challenges and transform them into solutions that not only help ourselves but also others.”
St. John says she’s encouraged by women who let her know how pleased they are with her products. “Their stories inspire me to continue empowering women by providing options that don’t require them to sacrifice comfort or style… More and more women are realizing that finding the right bra size and style can have a profound impact on their posture, confidence, and daily comfort.”
