After a 30-minute bus ride to Hobcaw Barony’s undeveloped beach, participants will learn about its features- from wrack lines to microscopic sand particles. Bags will be provided for collecting seashells during free-exploration time; or bring a lawn chair or blanket to just sit and enjoy the scenery. Participants should dress for the weather; close-toed shoes are recommended for the walk to the beach. Participants may want to bring: hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and water. Restroom facilities will not be available after leaving the Discovery Center. Please note start time of the event is determined by tides and sunrise and may not be the same for each date.(Exertion level: Medium impact – walking on sand, standing in direct sunlight) Reservations required.
