The riverfront city's annual festival offers arts and crafts, kids' games, food, live music, and a big fireworks finale.
Come join in the fun at one of Conway’s most popular annual events – Riverfest! Hosted by the Conway Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Beverly Homes, this June 24th fun fete first launched in 1980, growing in success and attendance with each passing year.
Activities commence at 11 a.m. with an opening ceremony, singing of the National Anthem, and color guard presentation of the American flag. Next, check out the patriotic-themed golf cart parade as participants promenade down 2nd Avenue to Marina Drive/ Riverfront Park, and back.
All the while, kids will be cavorting in a Kids Zone, complete with bouncy castles, water activities, and Jello Jump (a perennial favorite). Additionally, pony rides and, more exotically, camel rides, are offered.
This street festival lasts for 11 hours, so there will be plenty of food trucks, trailers, and vendors in addition to Conway’s numerous restaurants that dot the downtown area, says Tina McCrackin, marketing and special events coordinator for the Chamber.
Festival food such as corn dogs, funnel cakes, deep-fried avocado bites, and shaved ice treats will be on tap, along with cold beer, wine, and soft drinks. Beer products are available at Riverfest from 3 to 9:30 p.m.
To purchase beer or wine, attendees will go to an Identification Booth, show their driver’s license for proof of age, and receive a wristband.
Additionally, an Artisan Market will be filled with arts & crafts vendors.
Along with providing lots of fun and entertainment, Riverfest is designed to promote the city of Conway, Chamber, and area businesses, notes McCrackin. To that end, a Business Expo will be set up to showcase the river town’s many enterprises, with displays, information, and activities available.
Best of all, Riverfest is free to attend!
And don’t miss out on the big fireworks show, sponsored by Conway National Bank, that lights up the sky beginning at 9:30 p.m.
