The 54th annual World Championship Chili Cook-Off returns to the beach for another weekend of fun!
This September, mark your calendars for the 54th annual World Championship Chili Cook-off (WCCC) in Myrtle Beach. Since 1967, the event has been bringing chili lovers and professional chili chefs together.
With their People’s Choice Judging, you can get in on all the chili-rific fun by tasting any five of the competing teams’ chili creations. Still craving some of that chili goodness? Attendees can purchase an unlimited number of tasting tickets to help them find the perfect chili recipe. With hundreds of different flavors available for attendees to try, chances are you’ll get full before you’re able to try them all (but we won’t stop you from trying!).
In addition to the chili tastings, the WCCC offers a variety of family-friendly events. For the younger crowd, there’s a family fun zone with competitive food games and prizes. Plus, there’s the Pepper Sprouts cooking class, where children and their families can learn a variety of chili recipes and how to cook them from Mr. Chilihead (Michael Freedman) himself. All ingredients and equipment will be provided, so you’ll just need to bring a zest for cooking and your listening ears!
For the adults, attendees can enjoy a VIP Lounge, chili challenges, and a beer garden that features a diverse menu, including everything from craft beer to domestic pours. Live music will play from the main stage all three days, so you’ll have plenty of chances to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells.
General admission is free, so there’s no reason to miss this weekend of chili-filled fun!
