The Saltwater Grande family of companies creates a complete real estate investment property solution. They assist buyers with the purchase of property, help create an interior design that will maximize their revenue, manage the rental of their long-term or vacation rental property, assist with all other types of property management, and see it through to the eventual sale of the property.
With many years of experience between Sherry Gustafson, Co-Founder and Director of Guest Services, and Betty Robey, Co-Founder, Director of Owner Services, and Broker-in-Charge, along with their third partner, Alex Szymanowski, they had a dream to do this on their own, in a way that they knew was better in an ever-changing industry. They sat around the kitchen counter at Betty’s home one Saturday and wrote their business plan. Just over two years later, they’re a thriving and growing company!
Saltwater Grande has been nominated in several categories for Best of the Grand Strand and Best of the Beach. While they are incredibly grateful for these nominations, Sherry and Betty know that they’ve worked hard to create a company that sets itself apart from the rest in several ways. Most notably, their vacation rental company differs in its overall concept. They take on properties that are truly luxurious and offer a 5-star hotel product.
Unlike traditional vacation rental companies, Saltwater Grande doesn’t require a minimum night stay, and offers additional amenities and services such as high-quality linens and towels, a concierge service and event planning. The quality of their properties is very important to them, and they take a lot of care in making sure each of their guests sees that when they stay with them. Sherry and Betty recently saw a need for the care and maintenance of non-rental investment properties, such as second homes that may require housekeeping after an owner visit, maintenance, or receiving deliveries on behalf of the property owner. They feel they can fill a void in the Grand Strand by offering these property services alongside their rental management program.
Saltwater Grande and its owners contribute to a host of community organizations, including local humane societies, Folds of Honor, and Winyah Rivers Alliance.
Sherry and Betty have advice for other women who are starting out on their own. “Reach out to family, friends and community members for support and advice. Be smart about it, but take the leap,” they say.
With a goal to be the “undisputed leader of elite vacation rentals, real estate sales, property management, and interior design” along the Grand Strand, and their company motto of “reimagine the possibilities,” Saltwater Grande is well on its way with these two inspiring women at the helm.
