Johnny D’s Waffles and Benedicts now has three locations across the Grand Strand!
Our family-run, chef-driven breakfast and lunch restaurant specializes in waffles, but the amazing menu is full of a variety of dishes to satisfy guests.
“With our newest location opening to much fanfare in Surfside, we work diligently to ensure consistency throughout all locations,” says chef and owner Jamie Daskalis, who has also been named a South Carolina Chef Ambassador. “My family can be found spread throughout our three stores daily working with the staff and ensuring our standard operating procedures are in place and being executed correctly. In the restaurant business, consistency and customer service is key.”
Food Network voted Jamie’s red velvet waffle as No. 1 in South Carolina, but with a variety from omelettes like the sweet and spicy to the pork belly burger, you are guaranteed to find something to satisfy your hunger. We also offer dishes like our gluten-free, vegan-friendly banana pancakes and the popular protein omelette for our guests that need a little lighter fare or a special diet.
“I like to keep the menu fresh. Becoming stale is not only bad for bread, it is bad for business,” says Jamie. “I create pop-up specials and daily specials... sometimes food dishes, sometimes cocktails... to keep the menu fresh, fun and up on the new trends. The dishes that are most popular may end up in our next menu.”
Jamie’s father, Johnny D, has been in this business for over 40 years, and, like Jamie, is at the restaurants every day. Jamie’s sister, Maria, and brothers John and Niko are also involved in restaurant operations.
Jamie continues to build her other business, Making It Delicious, which is also the name of her cookbook. Making It Delicious is Jamie’s brand for spice blends, sauces and a clothing line.
