Brookgreen Garden’s Reign of Rice Lecture Series will focus on perpetuating rice heritage through the arts in 2021. February’s event will feature Akindele Decker, a poet, writer and artist who will inform about connections of storytelling, language and culture, and Sierra Leone and Gullah Geechee communities. The March lecture will be by cultural preservationist and artist Victoria Smalls, who will discuss the connections of the visual arts to these communities. Brookgreen Gardens, 1931 Brookgreen Drive.
