Strand College of Hair Design was founded because of our belief in quality education and bringing up the standards of the beauty industry. Our goal as staff and educators is to provide education for our students to become proficient and professional in Cosmetology, Hair Design, Esthetics, Massage Therapy & Bodywork, and Teacher Training.

Before the pandemic, our students competed in hair and makeup competitions in Philadelphia, PA, and Orlando, FL. We had students place first, second and third in their respective competitions against other students from across the United States. We are proud of our students’ talents. 

COVID-19 has been a challenge but we quickly moved our classes online, then moved to a hybrid format so they could return safely for their clinical/practical assignments. During the pandemic, a lot of schools and universities have ceased operations temporarily. Our students are here so that they can obtain their licenses in their respective professions and make a career for themselves.

We have kept our students moving forward so that they can still progress towards their educational goals and obtain their license while other schools in the area have temporarily stopped the class. We found our hybrid education did not have a negative impact and even saw improvement in some students’ grades. Some of our students were severely impacted by being furloughed, no daycare, even some family members having COVID-19.
