Monkee’s of Myrtle Beach is an upscale women’s boutique opened and operated as an “Aunt and Niece” team. Sonya Martin and her niece Mandi Reaves opened the doors to their boutique in September 2019.

Monkee’s of Myrtle Beach features the ultimate in women’s upscale shoes, clothing and accessories. The Monkee’s team has become synonymous with personalized customer service and cutting edge designer fashion. Instead of shopping at big department stores, visitors and locals both can travel to Monkee’s for an intimate shopping experience. Our team at Monkee’s learns faces, names, favorite designers and more! Here it’s never been just about the sale; it’s about helping a friend walk out feeling confident and looking her best!

Our personalized styling service is one of comfort and ease. When Covid-19 started impacting our area, we first took our storefront to both the web and social media, enabling our customers to shop with both safety and ease. Our team was readily available to fulfill orders via curbside, shipping or even home drop off delivery. When we were able to open our storefront, we provided masks and hand sanitation to all who visited and limited our capacity numbers to maintain a safe environment. Moving forward to our fall and holiday season, we are still taking precautionary measures to maintain a healthy environment.

We firmly believe and have faith that this challenge will give
our business more character. Our team and bond with customers during this season has been one we will never forget. Working harder and staying the course for success is a family trait we both inherited, so there is no giving up!

We are both local to the area, so we have seen many store trends come and go along the Grand Strand, but one that we feel was missing was a nice upscale boutique that has a comfortable, homey atmosphere to shop in. We want you to feel like you are shopping in your “girlfriend’s living room.”

The latest trend for this fall is leather anything—also blazers are very popular this fall!

Monkee’s of Myrtle Beach is involved in the community by always donating gift cards and items for both auctions and giveaways to various local causes, such as the Waccamaw Youth Center. Our store participated in the Toys for Tots Charity Dropoff this past Holiday Season, and we also awarded gift cards for our ”Heroes for Health” campaign. We are always ready to support our local community!

Our advice to women who are starting their own business is to find a great team which supports you and shares your
goals. It is most valuable and so important. We believe it takes a committed and loving village to achieve things! We all have different roles—as mothers, grandmothers, sisters, wives and business partners—but if you work as a team, supporting and caring for one another, then it is way more likely to be successful! Also never forget to laugh and have fun! Our working environment is like a sisterhood at Monkee’s.

Our goal is to expand! We hope to possibly open another location in the future or even expand the space we have!
