Drawn to art since childhood, Mana Hewitt is currently a Senior Instructor and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the School of Visual Art and Design at the University of South Carolina. Persistence is an exhibition of over 60 commemorative medals that recognize the courage and perseverance of women who have challenged societal perceptions and worked to improve conditions for all. Each medal is made of etched brass, sterling silver, copper and enameled portrait, and some include faceted stones.
