Karen Casciani - Watercolor, pen & ink, 14’’x 25’’
The Waterway Art Association Annual Spring Art Show, rescheduled due to COVID concerns, will now take place this fall at Sunset River Marketplace in Calabash, North Carolina. The art show will mark its 29th year in 2020. The exhibit features works by members of the Waterway Art Association (WAA), a dynamic group of artists with many excursions, exhibitions, workshops and shows. WAA was established in 1991 and serves artists residing in southern Brunswick County and northeastern Horry County. These events and activities are designed to reach a broad range of interests and are all brought into being by the group’s member volunteers.
The exhibit, which runs from September 7 to 12, will feature over 100 entries. Visitors will get to vote on their favorite piece of art for the People’s Choice Award. Pictured above is last year’s winner, Miss Calabash, a work in watercolor, pen and ink by Karen Casciani. The show is free and open to the public from 10 a.m.to 5 p.m. Many of the impressive works of art will also be for sale, so take in some local talent and find that perfect piece to take home.
