Enjoy an invigorating four-mile trek along trails that are usually closed to the public. The journey will start at the woods of Belle Baruch’s airport and continue to Barnyard Village, where conservation work on extant buildings in this African-American community, occupied until the 1940s, has just been completed. You’ll also see the 19th century brick ruins of a rice mill that burned in 1903, plus discuss cultural and natural history.
Hobcaw Barony, 22 Hobcaw Road. Thursday, 1:30–4 p.m. $25. (843) 546-4623, hobcawbarony.org
