The Carolina Opry welcomes the Russian National Ballet

Enjoy something a little different at the beach this February. Part of the Myrtle Beach Performing Arts Series at The Carolina Opry, the Russian National Ballet will present a performance the beloved Swan Lake.

The Moscow Festival Ballet was founded in Moscow in the late 1980s, a time when many of the dance institutions of the Soviet Union were enjoying a new-found creative freedom. As the first independent company of classical ballet, the group developed rapidly and toured many countries. The Russian National Ballet was founded as an extra troupe. With a solid knowledge of character dance and classical ballet, the company has gained respect from audiences around the world.

Each company, the Moscow Festival Ballet and the Russian National Ballet, tours as a smaller group so more people can be reached, not solely those in large cities. Myrtle Beach will be a stop on the Russian National Ballet tour this winter. The group features over 50 dancers with vast experience, many of whom have been with the company since its inception. They began touring in the United States in 2017.

Be sure to catch this one-night-only show of talented dancers performing Swan Lake this February at The Carolina Opry Theatre. This rare treat will bring incredible ballet talent to the Grand Strand.
