Blithe Spirit is set in the home of writer Charles Condomine and his wife, Ruth. Charles invites local eccentric medium Madame Arcati over for the evening in order to hold a séance at his house. He is hoping to gather character inspiration from the medium for his latest book. He gets more than he bargained for when Madame Arcati unwittingly brings Charles’ first wife, Elvira, back to haunt him.
