Proceeds from the Coping Together 5K Run/Walk go to a local cancer support group
The second year of this unique race is back at the beautiful La Belle Amie Vineyard in Little River. The Coping Together 5K helps raise funds for a great cause. The course, open to runners and walkers, winds through the scenic neighborhoods and vineyard, with part of the route actually allowing participants to run through the rows of grapes themselves. Not up for the full 3.1? There is also a one-mile Fun Run option.
The event raises funds for Coping Together, a local non- profit cancer support group for all cancers. Friends Michele Hartman and Nan Hastings, who have both been touched by the disease in two very different ways, started the group in 2013. Michele’s late husband, Randy, battled cancer for over 20 years. Nan is two-time breast cancer survivor. Coping Together is for anyone who has been affected by cancer, since it not only affects the patient but also the people around them. The group raises money to help those battling the disease with their day-to-day bills, and all assistance stays locally within Horry County.
So lace up your sneakers and enjoy a summer morning run at this beautiful locale, all for a great cause that helps those in our community fighting a tough battle.
