Austin has spent his whole life convinced that something terrible is going to happen to him. One night at a party, he has the pleasure of rekindling a romance with Ruth. Now a multiple divorcee, Ruth’s personal life is in such turmoil that their mutual friends look to Austin as her last shot at normalcy. At the same time, the friends hope Ruth can help loosen Austin from his years of depression and listlessness.
