Part of the Second Stage series, the CCU Department of Theatre will join with the Women’s and Gender Studies program to present In the Blood, written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by students Jala Bennett and Amani Huell. The play was nominated for the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and is an intense reimagining of Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter in which Hester, an impoverished, homeless and illiterate mother of five, struggles to care for her children.
