The Pillowman, by Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, is a 2003 play that tells the tale of Katurian, a fiction writer living in a police state. He is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories when a number of bizarre child murders occurring in his town have similarities to his tales. The play won two Tony Awards and received the 2004 Olivier Award for Best New Play.
