Now in its second year, this race is in memory of Nathan Black, an East Carolina University doctoral graduate who passed away in 2011. Nathan believed in “paying it forward,” and before his death he founded the Freedom Scholarship in Occupational Therapy at ECU, which allows any member of the military or family member of a military service person to apply.
