Welcome!: Laurie and John Stewart with their two beloved Welsh Corgis. The most recent renovation to their home was to turn a screened-in porch into an enclosed sunroom. As it turns out, both Laurie and John and the Corgis spend most of their time there now.
This Is Home: Modeled after a circa 1786 house in Winnsboro, S.C., the Stewart’s Grand Strand home is a shrine to their love of history, artifacts, family antiques, travels and heritage. Every corner has a story and every story has its own corner
Cooking Heaven: When the Pegrams bought their Dunes Club home, the kitchen in the addition had no oven and an awkward layout. With the help of interior designer Susie Darrah, the kitchen now has a heaping serving of function and style.
Six Months Later: What a difference! The mother-in-law suite addition underwent an entire renovation to become this light, airy and creamy suite for the Pegrams’ daughter, Ansley.
Eclectic At Its Best: The formal living/dining area features a design mashup of an antique chest, zebra skin rug, 1960s marble coffee table and gold leaf cork-covered walls in the dining room.
The Art Of Wine: Among a roster of refined details in the Cline home, a wine room holds vintages the couple brings in from the Napa Valley and incredibly detailed wine art by Thomas Arvid.
Details, Details: The master bathroom is a retreat all its own with architectural detailing, woodwork and gorgeous tile design.
Where Am I?: Sitting in the Clines’ cedar-lined, screened-in porch with a wood fire burning in the stone hearth, you are minutes from the beach, but the setting could just as easily be a mountainside retreat.
